February 19, 1920 ~ January 23, 2009

Marlow: Albert Andrew Cook, 88, Marlow, passed away Friday, January 23, 2009 in Oklahoma City.

Services will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, January 27, 2009, at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home, with Richy Large officiating. Burial will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery in Chickasha, under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow, Oklahoma.

Albert was born Thursday, February 19, 1920 in Ninnekah, Oklahoma, to Alvin and Myrtle Cook. Albert attended school in Amber.

He served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the 120th Division as a tank destroyer.

Albert married Imogene Clark on February 21, 1944 in Muskogee, Oklahoma.

Albert worked for the Chickasha Fire Department before being transferred to the airport and then to Dallas.

He moved back to Chickasha and was the paint shop mechanic for Ralph and Sons Oldsmobile. Albert then worked for Halliburton in the tooling department, he retired in 1979.

Albert enjoyed working in his garden, taking care of his yard and fishing. He loved doing things for people and got great joy out of taking something that was broken and repairing it.

Albert was a member of the VFW and the DAV. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include, Wife, Imogene Cook of the home, Daughter, Carlotta Mauldin and husband Roger of Norman, OK, 3 Grandchildren, Kim Reed, Steven Mauldin, Danette Hinson, 4 Great-Grandchildren, Colin Reed, Jacob Mauldin, Matthew Mauldin, Daxton Hinson, Brother, Jessie Cook of Ardmore, OK, 2 Sisters, Reba Boxley of Chickasha, OK, Thelma Wright of Norman, OK, Several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, Maurice Cook, Rayburn Cook, Wilburn Cook.
