Arthur Audus "Butch" Colbert
June 8, 1896 ~ March 24, 1966


Arthur A. "Butch" Colbert, 70, died about 5 p.m. Thursday in the Veteran's Hospital in Big Springs, Tex.

He was born June 8, 1896.

He had been a resident of Hobbs, N. M. for the past ten years and was a former resident of Chickasha, residing here from 1946-1956.

He had been in the Oil business most of his life and a co-owner of the Creek-Moore Oil Drilling Co., Tulsa and served the company as its drilling superintendent.

He had been in failing health with a heart ailment for the last eight years.

He was a member of the Chickasha Masonic Lodge and a 32nd Degree Mason. He was a veteran of World War I.

He is survived by his wife, Bertha of the home; one brother, H. C. Colbert of Abilene, Tex.; three sisters, Miss Willie Colbert, Wichita Falls, Tex., Mrs. John Patton and Mrs. Roy L. Moore near Abilene.

Interment will be in a Chickasha Cemetery.

Bertha Elizabeth Colbert
January 21, 1901 ~ March 24, 1966


Funeral service for Mrs. Bertha Elizabeth Colbert, 71, formerly of Chickasha, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of the Sevier Funeral Home with Rev. Mart Hardin, pastor of the First Baptist Church officiating.

Mrs. Colbert was born in Kansas City, Mo.

She was the widow of Arthur A. Colbert, who preceded her in death March 24, 1966.

Mrs. Colbert was a member of the First Baptist Church in Chickasha, a member of the Marion Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star of which she was a past matron. She was a charter member of the White Shrine in Chickasha.

Mrs. Colbert had been in Missouri for two months. She died Monday in the Charles Still Hospital, Jefferson City, Mo. She had been in failing health for the past five years.

Survivors include one niece, Mrs. Bill Davis, Gravois Mills, Mo.

Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery.
