Corene Pallie [Brunt] Christian Black
March 29, 1925 ~ August 2, 2007


Funeral service for Corene Pallie Black, 82, of Chickasha, Oklahoma will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 6, 2007 in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home.

Corene Pallie Black was born March 29, 1925 in Tabler, Oklahoma the daughter of James Woodard and Annie Louella [McMasters] Brunt and died Thursday, August 2, 2007 in Chickasha.

Corene attended school and graduated from Middleburg. She married Al Christian and later married Sgt. Melvin Black. Mel preceded her in death January, 1996. Corene was a member of the Northside Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by: Father: James "Dick" Woodard Brunt; Mother: Annie Louella Brunt; three sisters: Thelma Nance, Edith Orr, and Pauline Brunt; two nieces: Barbara Persinger and Sandra Lightner; Cousin and best friend: Lillian "Tumpy" Robinson.

Survivors include: one son: Tim Christian and wife Genny of Chickasha; one daughter: Julie Austin and husband Mike of Chickasha; Grandchildren: Cody Christian of Jacksonville, Florida; Marci Austin of Chickasha; Nicholas Christian and wife Becky of Shawnee; Lisa Austin of Chickasha; Madison Austin of Chickasha; two sisters: Hazel Taylor of Chickasha; Helene Waldron of Moore; Numerous nieces and nephews.

Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Henry David Christian
April 14, 1933 ~ December 14, 2009


Funeral service for Henry David Christian, age 76 of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 18, 2009, at the Bible Baptist Church. Rev. Kim Hayes will officiate and Rev. Kent York will assist.

Henry David Christian was born the son of Lem Doyle Christian and Orelia Townley Christian on April 14, 1933, in Geary, Oklahoma. He died on December 14, 2009, at his home in Chickasha.

He married Edna Doughty on March 28, 1951, in Chickasha.

Henry worked thirteen years for OSU Cotton Research and drove a truck for American Farm Lines for six years. He then worked for thirty years in the oilfield for Nabors and Big Chief Drilling Companies.

Henry loved to hunt and fish in the outdoors and wilderness.

He was a devoted husband and loved his family.

Henry was a member of the Bible Baptist Church where he had previously served as deacon and trustee of the church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lem and Orelia Christian; daughter, Judy Ann Brown; son, Larry David Christian; two sisters, Viola Mongold and Sylvia Word; three brothers, Doyle, Kenneth, and Claude Christian.Survivors include: Wife: Edna Christian of Chickasha, Granddaughter and Husband: Diedrea and David Holder, Grandson: Travis Whitener, Grandson: John Christian, Great Granddaughters: Destiny and Kaylee Holder and Taylor Andrews, Great Grandsons: Damon Miller and Jordan Christian, Sister and Husband: Ruth and Floyd Manuel, Sister and Husband: Juanita and Edsel Pool, Sister: Ellen Lamb, Brother and Wife: Allen and Phyllis Christian, Brother and Wife: Clyde and Betty Christian, Brother and Wife: Leroy and Janis Christian, Special Daughter: Sherry Lynch.

Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery. Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home.

Edna Pearl [Doughty] Christian
September 13, 1934 ~ October 6, 2016


Funeral service for Edna Pearl Christian, 82, of Chickasha will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, October 10, 2016 at Bible Baptist Church in Chickasha, OK. Michael Thompson will officiate.

Edna Pearl Christian was born the daughter of Frank and Christine Doughty on September 13, 1934 in Pittsburg County, OK. She died on October 6, 2016 in Ada, OK.

Edna grew up in the Rush Springs area. After she married Henry Christian they moved to Chickasha where they lived for the rest of their lives. She worked at Pet Milk and the cotton research plant, however she primarily devoted herself to being a homemaker and taking care of her family. Her greatest devotion was to Christ and her church family, whom she loved greatly.

Edna was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Christine Doughty; her husband Henry Christian; two children Larry Christian and Judy Brown; grandson Travis Whitener; brother Tommy Doughty; and sisters Billie Lou Crow and Dorothy Cook.

Edna is survived by her granddaughter Diedrea Holder and grandson John Christian; great-grandchildren Destiny Holder, Kaylee Holder, Jordan Christian, Taylor Andrews and Damon Miller; sister Pauline Crow; brothers Carl Doughty and Raymond Doughty; and special daughter Sherry Lynch.

Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery. Services are under the direction of McRay Funeral Home.
