William Palmore Chaffin
April 28, 1894 ~ August 21, 1975


Funeral service for William Palmore Chaffin, 79, 1005 South Fifth, will be 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Adams officiating.

Mr. Chaffin was born April 28, 1894 in Dibble. He died Thursday in Grady Memorial Hospital after being in failing health for the past year.

He married the former Miss Hattie McDaniel on June 16, 1921 at Bailey. He has lived in Chickasha for over 40 years owning and operating a grocery store until 1955.

He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Hattie of the home; one son, Phillip of Chickasha; two brothers, Pat of Louisiana and Wade of Rush Springs; three sisters, Mrs. Loudys Barrett of Chickasha, Mrs. Rene Short and Mrs. Gladys Davis of Marlow; and two grandchildren.

One son, William Pat, preceded him in death in 1940. Interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Hattie May [McDaniel] Chaffin
December 18, 1899 ~ May 6, 1986


Funeral for Hattie May Chaffin, 86, Chickasha, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday May 9, 1986 in Calvary Baptist Church. Rev. Billy Adams, pastor, will be officiating.

She was born on Dec 18, 1899 in Shawnee, I. T. and died Tuesday, May 6, 1986 in Chickasha. She and William Palmore Chaffin were married on June 16, 1921 in Bailey.

Mrs. Chaffin came to Chickasha in 1932 and had lived here since that time. She and her husband owned and operated Chaffin Grocery Store until 1954. She was a charter member of Calvary baptist Church.

Mrs. Chaffin was preceded in death by her husband, William Palmore Chaffin in 1975; one son, William Pat Chaffin in 1940; by her parents; by five sisters and three brothers.

Survivors include one son, Philip Chaffin, of Chickasha; two sisters, Thelma Hodge of Holdenville, and Margie Chaffin of Rush Springs; one grandson, Chark Chaffin of Chickasha; and one granddaughter, Melissa Chaffin of Chickasha.

Interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
