Raymond Lester Babel Sr
February 7, 1923 ~ February 1, 2002


Graveside service for Raymond L. Babel, Sr., age 78, of Chickasha, was held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 4, 2002, in the Fairlawn Cemetery. Elder Boyd Endecott officiated.

Mr. Babel was born the son of William L. Babel and Lula Hart Babel on February 7, 1923, in Beaverfalls, Pennsylvania. He died February 1, 2002, in Chickasha.

Raymond grew up in Beaverfalls, Pennsylvania. He lived in Beaverfalls for many years then moved to Chickasha in 1954. Soon after moving to Chickasha, Raymond became a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.

On January 9, 1957, he married Claudie Prentiss in Duncan, OK. During his life, Raymond worked in sheet metal fabrication as well as other various jobs.

He was preceded in death by his parents, half-brothers, and half sisters.

Survivors include: sister: Adaline Babel-Cuellar of Chickasha; daughter: Ethel Babel-Hurt of Chickasha; son: Raymond Lester Babel, Jr. of Boutte, Louisiana; granddaughter: Ayla Hurt of Chickasha.

Services were under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home.
