Funeral services for Nanny E. (McDaniel) Arick, 103, of Tuttle, Okla., will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 6, 2003, at Bible Baptist Church.

Nanny E. [McDaniel] Arick was born October 13, 1899, and died on Saturday. August 2, 2003.

Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home of Chickasha, Okla.

Nanny E. [McDaniel] Arick
October 13, 1899 ~ August 2, 2003


Funeral service for Nannie E. (McDaniel) Arick, 103, of Tuttle, Oklahoma, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 6, 2003, at the Bible Baptist Church in Chickasha.

Nannie E. (McDaniel) Arick was born October 13, 1899, in Carolton, Mississippi, the daughter of Clem and Edna [Boyd] King, and died Saturday, August 2, 2003, in Tuttle, Oklahoma.

She married Thomas McDaniel in 1920 in Mississippi. They moved to Earlsboro, Oklahoma, in 1929, then to Monument, New Mexico, in 1934, and back to Oklahoma in 1940. They moved to Illinois in 1942, coming back to Oklahoma in 1950.

Mr. McDaniel preceded her in death in 1976. She moved to Houston, Texas, in 1954. She them married Walter Arick in 1956. Due to his preaching assignments they moved several places. Walter passed away in 1990. At that time Nannie moved to Tuttle to live next to her two daughters.

Nannie was a homemaker and an LPN where she worked in Oklahoma City, Chickasha, and Wichita Falls, Texas.

She was the oldest member of the Bible Baptist Church.

Mrs. Arick was preceded in death by: 2 brothers: Erie King and Clifford King; 1 son: Lester Thomas McDaniel in 1993; 2 granddaughters: JoAnn York in 1962, Judy Dicus in 1976 ; 1 grandson: Michael Steven McDaniel in 1949; 1 great granddaughter: Julie York in 1996.

Survivors include: daughters: Alice Crandall of Chickasha, OK, Mertis York of Chickasha, OK, Joyce Jordan of Kansas City, Missouri, Joy Davis of Wichita Falls, TX; 1 son, Vergil McDaniel of Carmi, IL; 1 brother, Earl King, of Tecumseh, OK; 17 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren.

Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home of Chickasha.

Family will be gathering at the Sevier Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday night.
