Melvin Levoy Mackey
April 23, 1934 ~ October 25, 2005


Services for Melvin Levoy Mackey, 71, of Minco, OK will be held on Friday, October 28, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Minco.

The Rev. Eddie Chritchfield of the Southern Heights Baptist Church in El Reno will be officiating. Melvin Levoy Mackey was born on April 23, 1934 at Minco to Ora Lee and Ines Alpha Beatrice (Tupin) Mackey. He died Tuesday, October 25, 2005 at his home in Minco.

Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery of Minco under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home of Minco.

Melvin Levoy Mackey

Funeral services for Melvin Levoy Mackey, 71, of Minco were held Friday, October 28, 2005, 10 AM at the First Baptist Church of Minco with Rev. Eddie Critchfield of the Southern Heights Baptist Church in El Reno officiating.

Melvin Levoy Mackey was born April 23, 1934 at Minco to Ora Lee and Ines Alpha Beatrice [Tupin] Mackey and died Tuesday, October 25, 2005 at his home in Minco.

He had lived in the Minco community most all of his life and graduated Minco High School in 1952. Mr. Mackey graduated Central State University in 1956 and received his Masters Degree from CSU in 1967 with his post graduate studies also at CSU. He taught and coached at Beaver High School from 1956-1958.

He met the love of his life, Ila Fae Brady at the drug store where she worked in Beaver, Oklahoma. They had their first date on Easter and married June 15, 1957 in Beaver.

Mr. Mackey taught at Muleshoe, Texas from 1958-1963 and was employed as teacher and administrator at Minco Public Schools from August 1963 to December 1985. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Minco.

Mr. Mackey was preceded in death by his parents: Lee and Ines Mackey; one brother: Loy Dwain Mackey; and one grandson Shane Loren Mackey.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years Ila Fae of the home in Minco; one daughter and son-in-law: Melodye and Steve Mills of Inola, Oklahoma; three sons and daughters-in-law: Michael Lee and Angela Mackey of Wellston, Oklahoma, Mark Loren and Belinda Mackey of Moore, Monte Leon and Lisa Mackey of Oklahoma City; eight grandchildren: Andrew, James, John, Matthew and Ryan Mackey, Dusty and Amy Mills and Lucas Doonkeen.

Burial at Evergreen Cemetery of Minco under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home of Minco.
