Born to James Dallas and Mary Ann [Wacaster] Kinsey.

Married Joseph Jackson Powell on August 27, 1882 in Montgomery County, Arkansas. To this union ten children were born; George Marion, James Joseph, John, William, Washington Lafayette, Mary Ann, Willie Oliver, Samuel Alexander, Elvenia and Arlie Franklin Powell.

Son of Joseph Jackson and Delcenia Elizabeth [Kinsey] Powell.

He married Cora Ellen Coats on June 25, 1905 in Montgomery County, Arkansas. Their children; Leroy, Dora, Flora, Stoy, John and Lora Powell.

Graveside services for Joseph C. Powell, 75, of Chickasha, Okla., will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, in Bradley Cemetery, Bradley, Okla.

Joseph C. Powell was born August 22, 1929, in Clinton, Okla., and died on Friday, December 24, 2004, in Chickasha.

Services are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.

Joy Marie [Looney] Powell
January 19, 1934 ~ December 24, 2004


Graveside service for Joy Marie Powell will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 1st, 2006 in Bradley, Oklahoma.

Joy Marie was born January 19, 1934 to Arthur Clay Looney and Rachel [Johnston] Looney in Gracemont, Oklahoma, the 14th of 15 children.

She married Joseph Cleotha Powell on April 29, 1949. To this marriage five children were born. She was a devoted wife and mother, traveling with her husband overseas and around the United States during his military service.

She was preceded in death by her husband on December 24, 2004. She was also preceded in death by her parents and 10 brothers and sisters.

Survivors include two daughters, Lisa and husband Jeff Bauer, Jean and husband Larry Cain, three sons, Randy and wife Emily Powell, Arthur and wife Janelle Powell, and Thomas Powell, 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Interment will be in the Bradley Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.

James Troy Powell
October 11, 1935 ~ January 8, 2011


James "Troy" Powell of Rush Springs, Oklahoma departed this life on Saturday, January 8, 2011 in Chickasha at the age of 75. He was born on October 11, 1935 to Arlie Franklin Powell and Leola [Towery] Powell in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

Troy grew up in Bradley, Oklahoma. He was a long-time resident of Rush Springs, Oklahoma before moving to Chickasha. Troy was a retired ranch worker and he loved to play dominoes and checkers.

Mr. Powell is survived by his daughter, Sheila Mitchell, his sisters; Jessie Mae Windfield of Mena, Arkansas, Mildred Holmes of Antioch, Oklahoma, Margie Pennington of Mena, Arkansas and Patricia Walthall of Alex, Oklahoma and five grandchildren; Tiffany Nicole Melton, Brittany Ann Melton, Ashley Faith Melton, Brandy Renhea Melton and Magan Dawn Melton.

Mr. Powell was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers; J.C. Powell and Jerry Powell and two grandsons; Dennis Alvin Melton, Jr. and Brent Jack Melton.

A memorial service for Mr. Powell has been set for two o'clock p.m. on Tuesday, January 18th, 2011 at Bradley Cemetery in Bradley, Oklahoma.

Powell, Joseph Anthony "Tony," 44, died May 22. Graveside services 1 p.m. Thursday, Bradley Cemetery, Bradley [Ferguson, Chickasha].

Graveside services for Joseph “Tony” Powell, 44, of Chickasha, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 25, 2017 in the Bradley Cemetery with Ezell Nelson officiating.

Joseph Anthony Powell, known as Tony, was born on March 8, 1973 in Chickasha Oklahoma, the son of Joseph Randall “Randy” Powell and Beth Elaine (McKinney) Tanos. He died on Monday, May 22, 2017 in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

Tony graduated from Newcastle High School and then attended Brevard Community College in Melborne, Florida.

He enjoyed working out, fishing, and swimming. He loved spending time with his family and his children were the world to him.

Tony was preceded in death by his grandparents, J.C. and Joy Powell and Roland W. and Irene Elizabeth McKinney and stepfather, Rick Tanos.

Survivors include his father and stepmother, Randy and Emily Powell, of Chickasha; mother, Elaine Tanos of Chickasha; sister, Beth Powell of Chickasha; step-daughter, Brittany Settle of Florida; daughter, Morgan Powell of Florida; son, Jacob Powell of Florida; nephew, Garrett Ray of Chickasha; aunts and uncles; and other extended family and friends.

Services are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
