Man Shoots His Wife In Bradley Last Week

John Dunn of Bradley shot and killed his divorced wife, Mrs Amy Dunn, on the streets of Bradley last Saturday afternoon.

The shooting was done with a double-barrelled shot gun, and the woman died instantly.

Mr & Mrs Dunn were married in November, 1912, and had three children. They lived together until February 12, 1923 when a decree was granted to Mrs Dunn, who had sued for it on grounds of non-support.

According to rumours Mrs Dunn drove into Bradley Saturday afternoon, in a buggy with the children when her husband came up and talked to her for a few minutes. He then stepped back and fired the fatal shot.

Mr Dunn with his father, William Dunn, then started for Chickasha, but were met in Alex by officers who took the murderer in charge.

Monday evening before Judge Linn of the District Court, the prisoner plead guilty and was sentenced to the penitentiary for life. Sheriff Sankey and DeArthur Wilson took him to McAlister to start serving time immediately after he had eaten his supper the same evening after the trial.

Mr Dunn's father has been a highly respected citizen of Bradley for the past thirty years, while Mrs Dunn's parents, people by the name of Dewese, were residents of the town for a number of years, but are now living in Lindsay.
