Rosanna Williams
April 7, 1846 ~ December 12, 1919

"A Pioneer Mother Gone - In the death of Mrs. Rosanna Williams, which occurred December 12, 1919, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A. J. Hatcher, Another of the pioneer mothers of Oklahoma has gone to her reward.

The allotted time on earth is three score and ten years, but by the goodness and mercy of God, whom she trusted her years were extended beyond the usual measure of time.

She was born in Madison, Ark. April 7th, 1846. From there she came to what was then Indian Territory, settling near Pauls Valley. She early learned the ways of the pioneer and suffered many of the hardships endured by the early settlers who have left such a rich heritage to the present citizenship of the great state of Oklahoma.

She was converted early in life and united with the church and when the first Methodist church was organized at Pauls Valley, she became a charter member.

Her home was the lodging place of the circuit rider and his faithful horse found provender at her stable.

She was the mother of three children, one of whom proceeded her to the great beyond.

In 1902 her husband and companion was claimed by death and she went to make her home with her only daughter, Mrs. Hatcher.

She lived a beautiful life faithful to her Lord, her country and those with whom she associated. Although the trails through which she passed were great and the sufferings hard, she endured them with patience and has gone to reap her reward.

The funeral services were held Saturday conducted by Rev. C. C. Williamson, pastor of the Methodist church and burial was made in the Morris Cemetery.

"Peacefully sleep beloved one, Rest from thy labors thy work is done; Sweet be thy slumber 'neath the sod, While thy pure soul rests with God."

M/O Edna Lucretia [Williams] Hatcher who was the wife Andrew Jackson Hatcher.

Unmarked grave - No stone has been found during various cemetery surveys for this individual.
