Jimmie Ray "Jim" Wenzel
September 21, 1935 ~ April 19, 2012


Graveside service for Jimmie Ray Wenzel, age 76 of Alex, Okla., will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 24, 2012, in Alex Cemetery. Rev. Rick Forthman will officiate.

Jimmie Ray was born the son of Johnny Howard Wenzel and Hazel Lee Hill Wenzel Traywick on September 21, 1935 in Ninnekah. He died on April 19, 2012 in Chickasha, Okla.

Jim lived in the Ninnekah area growing up and later lived in Arizona for many years. While in Arizona, Jim owned Wenzel Trucking and was very active in the Jaycees.

He married Shirley Claxton on June 9, 1960 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They moved to Alex, Okla., in 1972 where Jim farmed, ranched, and was a cattle hauler.

Jim loved hunting, fishing, and poker nights in his barn. He enjoyed breakfast at the Community Center and playing dominos on Thursday nights.

He was preceded in death by his father, Johnny Howard Wenzel.

Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home.
