Allen Searcy
February 8, 1850 ~ July 29, 1916


Death of A. Searcy

Allen Searcy died at the home of his niece, Mrs. Blodgett in this city Saturday night after an extended illness of Bright's disease/chronic nephritis.

Burial was had in the Howell graveyard and Sunday afternoon, Judge G. P. Dickinson conducting the services.

Mr. Searcy was born in Tennessee about 66 years ago. He lived in this country about 26 years and was a beloved and respected citizen, well liked by everybody.

In early life he joined the Methodist church and his life was that of a Christian character.

He had been in poor health two or three years and was stricken down while in our city more than two weeks ago.

His home was on Colbert, a few miles west of Davis.

He leaves a son, Oscar Searcy, and a daughter, Mrs. H. C. McDowell, of Arizona, both of whom were with him when death came. They have the sympathy of all in their bereavement.
