Shirla Kay [Tomberlin] Alfred
July 28, 1940 ~ February 25, 2016


Shirla Kay Alfred, of Pauls Valley, passed away February 25, 2016 in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 75 years.

Kay was born July 28, 1940 in Illinois to Clifton and Glee [Ford] Tomberlin.

On May 17, 1959, Kay Tomberlin married Don Alfred at the Pauls Valley Trinity Baptist Church. She was a Secretary and worked at the Home Security Life Insurance Company for many years. She was also blessed as a mother and homemaker to her husband, Don and to her four children, Gary, Steven, Kristin and Joey. Kay was an active member of the Pauls Valley Trinity Baptist Church where she has worked in: Bible School, went with the church and children to Falls Creek, and served on many different committees throughout the years.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents, Cliff and Glee Tomberlin; and one great granddaughter, Hudsyn Kay Willis.

Surviving family include her husband, Don Alfred; four children, Gary Alfred and his wife, Cathy; Steven Alfred and his wife, Melinda; Kristin Holt and her husband, Joe; and Joey Alfred and his wife, Michelle, all of Pauls Valley; six grandchildren, Carissa Willis and her husband, Jeff, of Elk City; Caden Holt, Kaci Holt, Abby Alfred, Emmy Alfred and Brett Alfred, of Pauls Valley; one great granddaughter, Henley Willis of Elk City; four sisters, Claudia Brown and her husband, L. A., of Pauls Valley; Terry Dickson and her husband, Curt, of Prue; Linda Sells of Watts; and Connie Reynolds of Rio Hondo, Texas; two brothers, Tony Tomberlin and his wife, Cathy, of Ringling; and Tommy Tomberlin and his wife, Debbi, of Corpus Christi, Texas; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, a donation in memory of Kay Alfred would be appreciated. Please send the memorials to: Trinity Baptist Church, New Building Fund at P. O. Box 593 in Pauls Valley, OK 73075.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 10:00 am at Stufflebean-Coffey Chapel of Remembrance officiated by Pastor Dwayne Johnson and Rev. Terry Mott.

Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
