Stella Rae [Smith] Gibson


Services for Stella Rae Gibson, 68, Stratford are 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Hazel Wallace will officiate. Burial will follow at Dixon Chapel, near Byars, Oklahoma. Wake Service will be held 7:00 P.M. Monday evening at the Criswell Chapel.

Mrs. Gibson died Thursday, February 10, 2011 at a local hospital in Ada. She was born September 9, 1942 at Byars to Williamson and Esther Lewis Smith.

She married Edward Gibson Nov. 4, 1962. He preceded her in death on February 28, 2003.

Mrs. Gibson was a homemaker and a member of Dixon Chapel Church.

Survivors include five sons, Williamson Gibson, of the home, Luther Gibson of the home, Calvin Gibson and wife Tisha, Thomas, OK, Paul Gibson and his Betsy, Ada, and Curtis Gibson and wife Gale, Oklahoma City; a daughter, Ramona Walker and husband Virgil, Allen; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Rebecca Harper; a son, Lawrence Gibson; two sisters; and one brother. Bearers will be Mike Baggorly, Antoine Colungo, Jeremy Wallace, Jason Wallace, Nick Gibson and Ray Jackson. Honorary bearers are Tom Gaines, Windall Gaines and Virgil Walker.
