Anton Ray Vencl ("Tony")

March 23, 1929 - June 6, 2021

Celebration of life service for Anton R. (Tony) Vencl, 92, longtime farmer/rancher of Garber, will be held Saturday, June 12, 2021, at 10 a.m. at Ladusau Evans Chapel, Enid, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at the White Cemetery, Hunter, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Tony was born March 23, 1929, southeast of Hunter to Ladd and Maude Barnett Vencl, and departed this life on June 6, 2021, in Enid, Oklahoma. He attended Rosewood Country School and Garber High School, where he graduated in 1947. In high school he was very active in FFA, showing animals.

On July 20, 1952, he married Lora Rowe at the Garber Christian Church. That same year he was inducted into the United States Army, serving in Korea for 14 months. After his discharge, he resumed farming and continued for the next 64 years. He was a home-builder in the area for 25 years. He was a member of the Hunter United Methodist Church. He enjoyed his children and grandchildren's sports activities, wheat harvests with his family, taking care of the land and cattle, and trout fishing in Colorado.

He was proceeded in death by his parents and his brother Robert. Surviving family members include his wife Lora of 68 years; sons Wendell (Judy) Vencl, Greg (companion Terri) Vencl; daughter Cindy (Darren) Koehn; grandchildren, Candace (Chris) Dally, Daryn (Kristen) Vencl, Jared Vencl, Chase (Sarah) Vencl, Shae (Ashli) Williams, Hayden (Lindsey) Vencl; great-grandchildren, Kendyl and Kannon Dally, Camden and Madison Vencl, Emmalyn and Barrett Vencl, Lexington Williams, and Fletcher Vencl.

Memorials may be made to the White Cemetery at Hunter or the Hunter United Methodist Church, with the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian.
