Funeral services for Esther M. Kliewer age 85 of Enid will be 10 AM Tuesday at the Ladusau-Evans Chapel with Rev. Steve Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Esther was born August 22, 1926 in Enid to Abraham and Gertrude Toews Braun and passed away September 16, 2011 in the Greenbrier Nursing Home. She grew up and attended school in North Enid until her graduation from Kremlin High School in 1944. She married Andrew Kliewer on May 26, 1946 and moved to Nebraska. In 1952, they moved back to Enid for a just a year before returning to Nebraska. In March of 1958 they moved back to Enid. In June of 1960 she went to work for the Enid State School as an attendant. She stayed at home from 1961 to August of 1962 then went back to work for the state school and later earned a position as a supervisor until her retirement in August of 1985.
Esther is survived by her daughters Rosella Kliewer of San Antonio, TX, Patricia Kliewer of Billings, two sons Alfred Kliewer of Superior, Nebraska and Dewayne Kliewer of Billings, OK, sister Dorothy Balzer and her husband Marion of Enid, Sisters-n-law Mary Kliewer of Strafford, MO and Jo Bish of Aurora, Nebraska and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers and a sister.
Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of the funds.
