Graveside services for John W. Kuberskey, age 85, of Enid, will be 10:00 am, Friday, April 7, 2023 at Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. The United States Air Force Honor Guard will provide military honors at the graveside.
John was born October 2, 1937 in Petoskey, Michigan to Leon and Edna (Schroeder) Kuberskey and passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2023 in Enid. John served his country in the United States Air Force for six years, working as a jet engine mechanic. On November 28, 1956, John was honorably discharged from the Air Force. He married Velma Mayo on December 7, 1956 in Vernon, Texas. He owned and operated John's Auto Repair in Enid for 37 years until his retirement. John loved racecars, especially the late models, dune buggies, boats and was an avid OSU Football fan. His pride and joy was his family, and more than anything he enjoyed spending his time with them, especially his great-granddaughter Kloey. All of his family and friends will miss him.
John is preceded in death by his parents, wife Velma, sister Linda; three brothers, Jake, Bob and Marvin; and one grandson, Andrew Kuberskey. He is survived by two children, his daughter, Vickie James and husband Dennis; son Terry Kuberskey and wife Jody, all of Enid; two grandsons, Cory James and wife Heather, of Owasso, OK; Shane James and wife Mandy, of Enid; granddaughter, Hollie Bradford and husband Calvin, of Enid; three great-grandchildren, Coby Bradford and Kloey Bradford, of Enid and Owen James, of Owasso. John's brothers Erv Koboski, of Alma, MI; Jerry Kerbersky, of Naubinway, MI and Dick Kuberskey, of Iowa, also survive him as well as one sister, Shirley Kuberskey of Petoskey, MI.
