Memorial Park Cemetery

Grace L. Kirk

April 18, 1938 - February 20, 2022

Grace passed away peacefully on February 20, 2022. She was born to Jim S. Snodgrass and Lena White Snodgrass in Dimmitt, TX.

As a small child her family moved to Oklahoma, ultimately settling near the Ringling, OK, area. Grace graduated from Rexroat High School then attended Central State in Edmond, OK, obtaining a degree in Business Administration. Grace retired from the Enid Board of Education, serving as Secretary to the Superintendent of Schools before her retirement.

Grace was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Tom Kirk; son, Randal Kirk; daughter, Brenda Kirk; sisters, Mildred Watkins, Evelyn Watkins; brothers, Wilburn (Bud) Watkins and Jimmy Dale Snodgrass; two great-nephews, Derrick Snodgrass and Cody Dean Snodgrass. Grace is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and many cousins whom she loved dearly.

Grace was an active member of Emmanuel Baptist Church until her health began to fail her (2016-2020). She then attended a small "Cowboy" church in Lahoma, OK, with her friends who would pick her up from home and take her. Grace loved quilting, needle point, crocheting and knitting. She enjoyed camping with her family during summer vacations and family reunions. Grace was one of the founders of a group called Compassionate Quilters, receiving grants to buy supplies to make quilts for those needing a little warmth. She moved to Healdton, OK, in 2020 in hope of reacquainting herself with former classmates and friends. Due to her continued failing health she chose to relocate to Baptist Village in Oklahoma City until her death.

Visitation will be 9-10 a.m. Saturday, Feb 26th, at Buchanan Funeral Service. A celebration of Grace's life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 26th, at Buchanan Funeral Service in Oklahoma City, followed by burial at 1:30 p.m. at Enid Memorial Park Cemetery.

A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on 2022-02-26 at Buchanan Funeral Service, 8712 North Council Road, Oklahoma City, OK, USA.
