ENID, Okla. - Funeral service for Rose M. Evers, 77, of Enid, will be 10 a.m. Thursday, June 6, 2013, at Redeemer Lutheran Church. The Rev. Thomas House will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation is 6-7 p.m. today at Ladusau-Evans funeral chapel.
Rose was born Sept. 28, 1935, at the family home near Breckinridge, Okla., the daughter of Frank and Rosie (Petr) Maly.
She graduated from Garber High School in May 1953.
Rose went to work for Long Bell Lumber Co. of Enid in June 1953, as an administrative secretary.
On April 19, 1958, she married Donald F. Evers at Trinity Methodist Church in Enid.
She worked at Long Bell until August 1961. In November 1977, Rose went back to work as church secretary for Redeemer Lutheran Church. In August 1999, Rose retired to spend time with her husband Don of 42 years. Don died in September 2000.
Rose was involved in Lutheran Women?s Missionary League, Mary Martha Society, Lutheran Layman?s League, Aid Association for Lutherans, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans and served Home Extension Groups.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Rosie Maly; husband, Donald; and sister, Mary Jean Coats.
Rose is survived by daughters, Kimberly and husband James of Enid, and Brenda Andrew, and a son, John Evers of Enid; grandchildren, Jennifer and Matthew Stowers, Jae Stephanie Bowlin and Johnathan Bowlin, Tricity and Parker Andrew; stepgrandsons, Jeremy and Cody Bowlin; stepgreat-grandson, Zachary Bowlin; one great-granddaughter, Alice Rose Stowers; and two sisters, Betty Harms and Judy Hays.
Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church of Garber DVD Ministry, Lutheran Hour Ministry or Redeemer Lutheran Church.
