Merle was born May 28, 1918, in Fairmont, Okla., to Theodore and Christina Schwartz Eggers and passed away Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011, at Greenbrier Nursing Home. He grew up and attended Belleview School in the Fairmont community. He served a short period in the Army before he was honorably discharged. He farmed in the Fairmont Communities. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
He is survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Lorene, Miranda and Opal; and four brothers, Alfred, Everett, Marion and Edwin.
