Mennonite Brethren Cemetery


A family graveside service for Allen C. Mays, 88, of Enid, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Enid Mennonite Brethren Cemetery with a memorial service at 11 a.m. at Enid Mennonite Brethren Church. The Rev. Garvie Schmidt will officiate. Arrangements are by Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

He was born April 30, 1919, in Beaver to Ora and Mary Hiebert Mays and died Friday, Feb. 1, 2008, in Enid.

He was raised in Beaver County and attended Bethany school. He also lived around the Balko community. He married Esther Ediger Sept. 19, 1940, in Kingfisher. She died Aug. 10, 2005. He farmed most of his life, fixing farm machinery and doing metal fabrication. He moved to Enid in 1970. He was a member of Enid Mennonite Brethren Church.

Surviving are his son, Roy Mays of Enid; one daughter, Edna Isaac, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; one brother, Ivan Mays, of Austin, Texas; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Esther, he was preceded in death by one sister.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Mennonite Central Committee.
