Mrs. Harve H. (Lula L.) Helton, 85, 813 E. Maple, died Wednesday afternoon in a local hospital after a lengthy illness. Funeral rites will be at 10 AM Saturday in the Henninger – Allen Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Wade, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating.

Burial will be in the Enid Cemetery.

Mrs. Helton was born in Clear Springs, Missouri, where she grew up and attended schools. She and H. H. Helton were married at Summersville, Missouri, in January 1911. They moved to Enid in 1918 where Helton was engaged in the flour milling business, and had lived here since, except for a brief time they spent in Altus, Hennessey and Wichita.

Mrs. Helton was a member of the Hennessey Chapter of the Eastern Star, a member of the First Baptist Church, where she was active in Sunday school. A memorial fund to the first Baptist Church has been established in Mrs. Helton's memory, with the church and funeral home accepting contributions to the fund.

She was predeceased by her husband on January 25, 1947; by four brothers and a sister.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Vivian Boles of Enid and Mrs. Merlw (LoDema) Goddard of Ft. Collins, Colorado; two sons, Jim Helton of Concord, California, and Dr. Jack Helton of Independence, Missouri; six grandchildren; three great – grandchildren; a brother, Walter Patterson, Springfield, Missouri, and a sister, Mrs. Walter (Nina) Hoberecht of Enid.
