Velma Faye (Huffman) Goins

Velma went home to be with her Savior on April 13, 2020, at the age of 91. Velma was born in Enid on December 15, 1928, to Velvie and Mary Edna Huffman.

She was raised in Enid where she attended Enid Public Schools, graduating in 1946. After graduating schools, she was employed by the Kress Department Store in downtown Enid. There she met Harold Goins her husband of 69 years. They were married on July 16, 1950. God blessed them with four children, Gary, Linda, Vonnie and Randy.

Velma was a homemaker while her children were growing up. She went back to working outside the home after all her children were in school. She made sure that she and the children faithfully attended Bible Baptist Church. She loved to play the piano and sing with the children. Velma found the time, in her busy life, to crochet, sew, and embroidery many beautiful items for family and friends. She was also a talented cake-maker and decorator. She was a Blue Bird leader for 2 years. God also blessed her with 9 granchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Velma is survived by her husband, Harold, of the home; son Gary and Ann Goins of Enid; daughter Linda and Mike Epps of Vandalia, IL; daughter Vonnie and Ken Wells of Oklahoma City; son Randy and Gloria Goins of Enid; one sister, Zetta Oswald of Enid; and one brother, Eugene Huffman of Enid.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Harlan; and one great-grandson, Logan Pike.

A private memorial service will be held at Enid Cemetery April 30, 2020, at 11:00 a.m.

Memorials may be made to the Bible Baptist Church, Enid, OK.
