July 18, 1939 - October 10, 2019

The Funeral services celebrating and honoring the life of Ethel "Janie" Davis-Buffalo will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday October 17, 2019 in the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints with Bishop George Curtis officiating. Burial will follow in the Enid Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

Janie was born July 18, 1939 to James Madison and Alta Jane (East) Poplin in Enid, Oklahoma and passed from this life on October 10, 2019 at Golden Oaks Nursing Home in Enid, Oklahoma.

She attended Enid Public Schools, graduating with the Class of 1957. She married Allen "Bud" Davis and moved to Jackson, Mississippi. While there, she attended Hines Junior College and became licensed as a Nurse. She began working in the nursing field and continued to help care for over thirty-six years. She later returned to Enid and married James Lenard Buffalo in 1994. She was a member of the Enid Civitan Club and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints.

She is survived by her daughter, Harlie Davis-Buffalo, of the home, her lifelong friend Valerie Henderson and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both spouses, four brothers, Marshall, Floyd, Howard and Jimmy; five sisters, Cora Manzelman, Zelma Cronister, Margaret Lawrenz, Jodie Bond, and infant Kay Frances.
