February 11, 1910 - April 13, 1997

Hayward, Kansas – The funeral for Floyd Merle Collyar, 87, will be at 3 PM Tuesday in the Chapel of Henninger – Allen Funeral Home. The Rev. Melvin R. Duncan will officiate. Burial will follow in the Enid Cemetery.

He was born February 11, 1910, in Geuda Springs, Kansas, to Charley and Myrtal Splane Collyar and died Sunday, April 13, 1997, at his home in Hayward.

He had various occupations, primarily working as a pumper in the oil fields and a deputy and supervisor in law enforcement. On October 23, 1965, he married Bernice P. Gerst in Long Beach, California. They later moved to Oklahoma.

Surviving are his wife, Bernice; four children, Michael A. Winters of Hayward, Sandra J. Cannon of Layton, Utah, Dennis M. Gerst of Enid and Gary Lynn Gerst of Anadarko; one adopted son, Paul Leroy Collyar of Broken Arrow; 12 grandchildren; and numerous great – grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
