Russell Wendell Clodfelter, 89, of Oklahoma City passed away Thursday, June 17, 2010 at the Veterans Center in Norman, OK.

Russell was born September 9, 1920 in Marshall, OK the son of Sanford and Edith (Taylor) Clodfelter. Russell was a graduate of Enid High School and Univ. of Tulsa. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Russell was employed with the Corps of Engineers in Tulsa where he met and married Norma Bachelder - his wife of 56 years.

A civil service career in accounting moved Russ and family to the Tinker AFB area in 1960. Upon retirement from Tinker in 1975, Russell stayed active working janitorial maintenance in the Mid-Del school system, and then as a self-employed landscaper.

Member of Wickline United Methodist Church since 1960, he was devoted to many activities there, and was a volunteer at the MWC Food Pantry for many years.

Russell was preceded in death by his wife Norma, his parents, brother Karol, and sister Juanita.

He is survived by his daughters: Laurie Clodfelter and Wendy Quinn; grandchildren: Glenn Unruh, Julian D. Unruh, Brandon Mayfield, Cheyne Quinn and Morgan Quinn; great-grandson, Julian R. Unruh; along with numerous other relatives and friends.

Services to honor Russell will be at 10:00 am, Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at Wickline United Methodist Church in Midwest City.

Russell will be laid to rest at the Enid Cemetery at 2:30 pm. Services are under the direction of Barnes Friederich Funeral Home; 1820 S. Douglas Blvd.; Midwest City, OK 73130. (405) 733-2991.
