Viola Bowman

Miss Viola Bowman, well known Enid musician who resided in the Oklahoma Christian Home of Edmond, died Friday morning, November 14, 1980, in Oklahoma City following a brief illness.

Miss Bowman was raised in the Hunter – Kremlin area, later moving to Enid. She was a graduate of Phillips University where she studied violin and viola under Professor Rein Dyksterhaus.

Miss Bowman was a retired teacher of the Enid public school system, a member of the Enid Music Teachers Association, AAUW, St. Mary's Hospital Volunteers and Central Christian Church of Enid. She played with the Enid Phillips Symphony, Enid String Quartet, Central State University Orchestra and Oklahoma Symphony Orchestra.

Miss Bowman is survived by a sister, Inez, of the Oklahoma Christian Home in Edmond.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
