Services for M. Ernestine Allen, 87, will be at 10 AM Wednesday in the Chapel of the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jack L. Atkinson officiating. Burial will be in the Enid Cemetery under the direction of Henninger – Allen Funeral Home.

She was born May 31, 1902, on a farm east of Meno and moved with her parents to Enid at an early age. She graduated from Enid high school in 1919 and attended Oklahoma A & M College at Stillwater. She was later employed at the Enid Paint and Wallpaper Company.

The former May Ernestine Thurman married Lee H. Allen on May 30, 1936, in Austin, Texas, where they made their home until 1938, when they moved to Enid. In 1942 the couple moved to the farm east of Meno.

Allen was a member of the Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

Survivors include nieces and nephews, May Adele Kirtley and Leslie Beckham of Enid; Carol Gorton of Gardnerville, Nevada, and John W. Beckham of Dallas, Texas.

Memorial contributions may be given to the American Legion Baseball Fund with the funeral home serving as custodian.
