Covington Cemetery


FRIDAY FUNERAL FOR STANLEY ORVILLE NICHOLS
Funeral services for Stanley Orville Nichols, killed in a car train accident in Kansas Tuesday will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Christian Church in Covington. Rev. Eddie McIndoo and Rev. Amos Meyers will officiate. Burial will be in the Covington Cemetery under the direction of Darnall Funeral Home.

A U.S. Navy Veteran of World War 2, he was born in Covington. Following his release from the Navy in 1945 he attended Oklahoma State University as a geologist. At the time of his death he was district engineer for the Petro-Cap Oil Company for Kansas and Oklahoma.

He was a member of the Height Christian Church of Tulsa, Tulsa Geological Society; IAME, and a member of the Rock Hounds Club.

Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs Charles Lewis Nichols, of Covington; his widow, Willa Jean; two daughters, Sandra Jean and Laura Kathleen, both of the home; two sisters, Mrs. M. D. Winters, Pioneer; Mrs. B. R. ( Charlotta ) Felible, Tulsa. Pallbearers will be E. L. Thomas, Glen Davis, Bill Gault and Walter Viers.
