Breckinridge Cemetery

Hilda Roggow
Hilda was born on the Roggow farm north of Breckinridge on Aug. 19, 1922, and died at The Commons Methodist Care Center in Enid on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011, the anniversary of her baptismal birthday. She was the sixth child of 11 children of Reinhard and Ella (Schossow) Roggow.
Hilda Frieda Lydia Roggow was baptized on Sept. 17, 1922, and confirmed on May 3, 1936, at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Breckinridge by Rev. Paul Hoyer. She attended Immanuel Lutheran School and graduated from the 8th grade in 1937. Hilda lived in Enid for a number of years. During this time she worked at Standard Brand for four years and at Gold Spot Dairy for 48 years. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Enid, where she taught Sunday school for 13 years.
She moved back to the farm to help take care of her father in 1968. At that time, she became a member of Immanuel Lutheran, Breckinridge, until her death. She was very active in her church with Lutheran Women's Missionary League, Lutheran Laymen's League and Aid Association/Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, Bible study, choir, quilting, church upkeep and Project Phillip.
After her father's death, Hilda moved back to Enid in 1976, where she lived in her own home. She lived there until February 2007, when she moved to Sterling House of Enid and most recently, The Commons.

Hilda was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Bertha Loesch and Della Palmer; brothers, Bernhard, Herman and Erwin Roggow; and one nephew, Raymond Loesch.

Hilda is survived by two sisters, Minnie Wilgus and Bernice McCanless, both of Enid; three brothers, Wallace Roggow and wife Ladova, Victor Roggow, and Gerald Roggow and wife Judy, all of Breckinridge; 29 nieces and nephews; and a number of great-nieces and nephews. "Aunt Hilda" had a special place in her heart for all of her nieces and nephews.
