Obituary
Funeral services for Melvin Dwayne Morris, age 78, of Enid will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Ladusau-Evans Chapel with Rev. Arthur McCormick officiating. Burial will follow in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Breckinridge, OK.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today at the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
He was born August 13, 1927 in Helena, OK to William A. And Lillian L. Brown Morris and passed away early Sunday, September 18, 2005 at St. Mary's regional Medical Center.
He attended and graduated from Jet High School in 1945. He served 14 months in the United States Army.
He married Geraldine " Gerri" Mohlenbrink on May 10, 1953 in the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Breckinridge.
He was a member of the Briggs Evening Lions Club. He was very active in the Breckinridge community were he raised a lot of money for different orginizations.
He worked for OTASCO and retired after 20 years as a manager. He worked for A.A.T. Industrial Supply for eight years.
He is survived by his wife, Gerri of the home; children, Tracy W. Morris and his Wife Kay of Enid, Deborah K. Poteat and her husband Bill of Enid, Edward w. Morris of Tulsa, Mary L. Hobson and her husband Byron of Meno, Richard D. Morris and his wife Denise of Enid; three brothers Alvis A. Morris and Delton J. Morris both of Enid, John D. Morris of Corpus Christi, TX; three sisters Jerleen Pettus of Lahoma, Jeanetta Nakvinda of Ringwood, and Deanna Kruckenberg of Enid; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
His parents, one sister Lora Fisher, and infant brother preceded him in death.
Memorials may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation. Diabetes Division, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of the funds.
