Breckinridge Cemetery


The funeral for Jerry Janssen, 71, will be 11 AM Friday, July 25, 2008 at Breckinridge Immanuelle Lutheran Church with Rev. Art McCormick officiating. Burial will be in the Immanuelle Lutheran Church Cemetery, Breckinridge. Arrangements are by Ladusau – Evans Funeral Home.

Jerry was born in Enid, Oklahoma, on December 10, 1936, and passed away Sunday, July 20, 2008, in Denver, Colorado.

He grew up in the Breckinridge area and graduated from Garber High School in 1955. He joined the Oklahoma National Guard in high school and served in the U. S. Army from 1955 to 1958.

Jerry married Barbara Noteware January 22, 1956. He was a farmer, an electrician and worked at several gas plants in the Enid area. Jerry was a lifelong member of Immanuelle Lutheran Church in Breckinridge and held several offices in the church.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara, of 52 years; a daughter, Laurie Janssen of Enid; a son, Jim Janssen of Edmond; and one granddaughter, Jade Janssen of Enid. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Bill (Yolanda Martin) Middleton of Enid and Mrs. Robert (LaVerle) Brunken of Garber.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and one infant sister.

Memorials may be given to Breckinridge Lutheran Church Perpetual Cemetery Fund or the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, heart division, with Ladusau – Evans Funeral Home acting as custodian of the funds.
