Ione Elizabeth (Henry) New, 97 year old Harmon, OK resident passed from this life December 1, 2018. She was born December 7, 1920 on the family farm southeast of Harmon to Arch and Ethel (Floyd) Henry. Ione attended first through eighth grade at Parkman School.

On July 10, 1937 Ione married Dale New at Harmon. To this union five children were born, Bill, Beverly, Bonnie, Barbara and Fred. The family made there home on the family farm a mile and half from Harmon. Ione attended the Harmon Nazarene Church in her younger years.

Ione was a beloved housewife and mother, she worked alongside her husband on the farm. Ione enjoyed crocheting, putting jigsaw puzzles together, and working on crossword puzzles in her spare time. She loved spending time with family and especially enjoyed the grandchildren.

Ione was preceded in death by her husband Dale; son Fred; parents Arch and Ethel Henry; brothers Everett, Ovid, Cecil, and Ronnie; sisters Leona Bowles and Veta Henry; sister-in-law, Portia Farris; grandson Rudy Inselman; and Buck McNeal a dear friend and companion of 28 years.

Ione is survived by son Bill New and special friend Carole of Harmon, OK; daughters Beverly Smith and husband Milton of Arnett, OK, Bonnie Hoover of Grovespring, MO, and Barbara Mabry of Arnett, OK; sister-in-laws Carol Henry McKee of Amarillo, TX and Imogene Meier of Denver, CO; 12 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other family and a host of friends.
