Ellis County

Eddie Cemetery

SEC-11 TWP-18 R-23

LOCATION: 8 Miles east of Arnett and 6 miles south.

This cemetery was named for Hugh Eddie. The land apparently was owned by John F. Darr in 1910, and ownership of the cemetery was passed on when the land changed ownership. In 1996 Walter McCartor was the land owner.

The location, being on the top of a hill, provides a visitor a full view of the surrounding countryside. We have little background information on the individuals who are buried here. One informant advised us that several of these grave sites belong to people who were starved out--one way or the other.

The late Viola Thompson had the map of this cemetery.

If you have family buried in the Eddie Cemetery or have obits (with newspapers permission or an obit that you can write) or tombstone photos or individual portraits or can write a short bio and would like to add your information to this website, contact the area coordinator for more information. You can also check out our How to Submit page.

NOTICE. If you submit information to this website and change your e-mail address please notify the area coordinator with the county/cemetery and new e-mail address so we can keep our pages as up to date as possible.

Note: Every effort has been made to transcribe this information accurately. These records MAY CONTAIN ERRORS. Any corrections and/or additions greatly appreciated.
