Cathy M. (Davidson) Terrel

Catherine (Davidson) Terrel departed this earthly life at the age of 76 in her home surrounded by family on March 19th, 2021. Cathy was born on May 8, 1944 to Joe and Lois Davidson in Waynoka, OK. She was raised in Alva with her parents and two sisters, Geneva and Myrtle.

On January 30, 1964, Cathy married Kent Terrel, and the two settled in Cestos, Oklahoma where they raised three children. Cathy was a homemaker and enjoyed being a farmer’s wife where she could often be found feeding cows or driving the wheat truck during harvest. She enjoyed playing the piano, and her grandchildren have fond memories of her playing Christmas carols. Cathy also enjoyed several crafts including painting and crocheting beautiful afghans for her family members. She loved genealogy and teaching her grandchildren about their family history. She was a member of the First Christian Church.

Cathy was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Geneva and Myrtle, and her husband Kent. Surviving are her son Rocky Terrel and wife Cindy, her daughter Christy Cheek, her son Brett Terrel and wife Sheila; six grandchildren, Jared Cheek, Shurae Bensch and husband Brandon, Shelby Sipari and husband Reima, Megan Sellers and husband Allen, Tricia Wardin and husband Christopher, Katie Horn and husband Buster; four great-grandchildren, Brennon Case, Laityn Bensch, Jayden Bensch, and Braelyn Horn, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Monday, March 22, at 1:30 p.m. at the Seiling First Christian Church. Interment followed at Riley Cemetery. Condolences may be offered at shawfuneralhome.net. Memorial donations may be made to Riley Cemetery, c/o Redinger Funeral Home, P.O. Box 236, Seiling, OK 73663.
