Services will be Tuesday September 15, 2015 at 10:00 am at the First Assembly of God Church, Woodward, Oklahoma with burial following in Riley Cemetery, Vici, Oklahoma.

Visitation:
Saturday ~ 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
Sunday ~ 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm
Monday ~ 9:00 am to 7:00 pm

Gordon Douglas “Bud” Hunter, 59, of Vici, Oklahoma, passed from this life on September 10, 2015. Bud was born August 20, 1956 to Gail and Arlene (Jones) Hunter in Woodward, Oklahoma. Bud attended school in Camargo and later high school at Vici where he graduated with the class of 74. After high school Bud attended Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, Oklahoma for two years. Bud met the love of his life Gayla Morrow and on December 7, 1982 they were married in Oklahoma City.

Bud owned Hunter Insurance Agency in Vici, Oklahoma for fifteen years and was the president of Dewey County Oklahoma Farmers Union Insurance for 8 years. After the insurance company, Bud worked for AirGas as a driver and in 2015 he was awarded Driver of the Year for AirGas. Bud enjoyed many hobbies and interests which included hunting, fishing, and farming, but what he loved most and always put first was church and his relation with the Lord. He was baptized in Jesus’ name in 1988 at the Pentecostal church. Bud loved the Lord with all his heart and strived to do “His” will. Bud participated in many church activities including youth director, teacher, and interim preacher. He received an award for fifteen years of service with the youth group at United Pentecostal Church.

Bud is preceded in death by his father Gordon Gail Hunter; grandmother Ollie Lena Hunter; grandparents Carl and Ethel Jones; and a stepson William Allen Cline.

Left to carry on Bud’s legacy is his wife Gayla Hunter of Vici, OK; mother Arlene Hunter of Vici, OK; two brothers Jack Hunter and wife Mercy of Sunnyvale, CA, John Hunter wife Marie of Taloga, OK; four sisters Arlinda Lynes and husband Larry of Taloga, OK, Robin Croven and husband Richard of Jet, OK, Jan Trimble and husband David of Vici, OK, Susan Badley and husband Rick of Tennessee; stepson Steve Cline and wife Lori of Woodward, OK; granddaughter Stephanie Maher and husband Seth of Olustee, OK; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.
