Opal Marie [McMurry] King

Opal Marie King was born on January 25th, 1933 in Brownsville, Tebbessee to Carl and Audrey [Crotchfield] McMurry

She died on July 21, 2012 at a local hospital in Lawton, Oklahoma at the age of 79.

Services are scheduled fpr 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 26, 2012 in the Whinery~Huddleston Chapel with Rev. mailto:sc@okcemeteries.net" Jomes pastor of Cameron Baptist Church officiating. Bisitation is scheduled for Wednesday evening from 6~8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Opal Marie's family moved to Memphis, Tennessee at an early age where she spent most of her childhood.

She married shortly after graduating from high school. For the next several years Opal Marie and her family found themselves stationed at several assignments with the military.

In 1964 Opal Marie and her two daughters settled down and soon called Lawtob home.

Opal Marie was a seamstress with Haggar [Lawton Manufacturing], and continued being a seamstress after Haggar left Lawton. Even during her retirement she was persistent in becoming an excellent quilter, and even better seamstress.

She was a member of White Shrine, the Iris Society, and Cameron Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by both parents.

Survivors include two daughters, Bettye M. Finch of Oklahoma City, and Debbie Benoit of Lawton; one grandson, Brandon Benoit of Lawton' three granddaughters, Jinnifer Ricker and husband Jason of Edmond, Kimberlye E. Finch of Dallas, and Larissa L. Chambers and husband Darrell of Shawnee, four great grandchildren, Dalton Mize, and Sydney Ricker of Edmond, and Abagail Benoit of Burkbernett; two sons-in-law, Bobby Benoit and Dean O. Finch; a special lifelong friend Debbie Casey and husband Kim, and their son Ash Casey, all of Fort Worth, Texas. Opal Marie also has numerous relatives in Tennessee.The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Cameron Baptist Church "Mens 'Helping "Hand" ministries, 2621 SW C, Lawton, Oklahoma 73505.
