Baxter F. Barkley Sr.

Funeral for Baxter F. "Frank" Barkley Sr., 88, Lawton, will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Whinery-Huddleston Chapel with the Rev. John Webb officiating.

Mr. Barkley died Thursday, April 22, 2010, in Lawton.

Interment with full military honors will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

He was born June 22, 1921, in Sumter, S.C., to Raleigh and Jessie Faye McCloud Barkley. He was raised and attended school in Sumter, S.C. He spent three years in the Army Air Corps from 1943 until 1946, then joined the regular Army and retired after 22 years. He served in Europe, Korea and twice in Vietnam. After his discharge he worked as an airplane mechanic for a private contractor at Fort Sill. He retired in 1972 due to health issues. He enjoyed fishing, working in the yard and eating. He was a devoted husband and loving father to all of Lorean's children, and had a true respect for other people.

Survivors include his wife, Lorean; seven children and their spouses: Jim W. and Sue Arterberry, Lawton; Minnie and Don Rhodes and Dodie Farrell, all of Cache; Penny and Kenneth Grooms, Rush Springs; Linda Carol and Bill Carter, Chickasha; Liz and Al Adamson, Lawton; and Baxter F. Jr. and Barbara Barkley, Texas; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, two sisters and several grandchildren.

Friends may call from 1-5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Lorean [Farmer] Barkley

Death date: June 20, 2014

Lorean F. Barkley, 94, Cache, was born September 21, 1919 in Henrietta, Texas to Marion Farmer and Leora Brown. She died at a local care facility on June 20, 2014.

Lorean was a great cook and owned and operated Lorean's Cafe in Cache in the 1960's. She also worked as a secretary for Beacon's for many years.> She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed spending time outdoors camping and fishing and playing games.

She enjoyed collecting porcelain dolls and had a very large collection of them.

Lorean loved to read her Bible and was a long-time member of Cache Christian Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Baxter Barkley; parents, Marion Farmer and Leora Farmer-Terry; children, George and Joyce Arterberry; brothers, R.E. Farmer and Calvin Farmer; sister, Hazel Jones; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Jim Arterberry and wife Sue, Minnie Rhodes and husband Don, Mandy "Dodie" Farrell, Linda Carter and husband Bill, Penny Grooms and husband Kenneth, Liz Adamson and husband Al, and Frank Barkley, Jr; a sister, Thelma Jackson; a brother, Alvin Farmer; over 120 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She also has numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends.
