Edgar William Milburn

Funeral for Edgar William Milburn, 79, Lawton, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Bethel United Methodist Church, east of Lawton, with the Rev. Dan Eppler, associate pastor and the Rev. John Saville, pastor of Westminster Presbyterian Church, officiating. Mr. Milburn died Sunday in a local hospital following a lengthy illness. Burial will be in Letitia Cemetery, east of Lawton, under direction of Becker Funeral Home.

He was born Dec, 15, 1914 in Harrisburg, Stephens County, Okla. He attended grade school in Duncan and later attended Empire school. He was a farmer and dairyman. Later, he was employed as a custodian at Whittier Elementary School, Lawton. He retired in 1976. He was also known as "The Bee Man", operating a large apiary on his property east of Lawton. He married Audrey McGee on June 18, 1941 in Addington. He was member of Bethel United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; two daughters, Kaye Miller, Lawton, and Nancy Schlehuber, Moore; a son, Darryl Milburn, Lawton; three sisters: Ellen Hardy, Longview, Texas, and Katherine Greer and Ruth Aurentz, both of Nacogdoches, Texas; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
