Marjorie Rock [Jenkins] Phillips

A recitation of the holy rosary for Marjorie Rock Jenkins Phillips, 77, of Enid will be 7 p.m. this evening at Ladusau-Evans Chapel. David Jones will officiate. A mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church. The Rev. Larry Kowalski will officiate. Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Ft. Sill Old Post Cemetery, Lawton. Arrangements are by Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

She was born Dec. 14, 1927, at Bloominton, Ill., to Emmett E. and Stella Mae McKern Jenkins and died Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2005, at her home.

She attended Bloomington, High School until she enlisted in the Army Air Corps during World War II. She earned the Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Medal, World War II Victory Medal and World War II Theater of Occupation of Germany Medal. She served six years as a medic.

She married Jack Kenneth Phillips in Sherman, Texas. They traveled several years while he was serving with the Air Force. While stationed in College Station, Texas, she worked in a health facility as an LPN. They settled in Enid. He died April 10, 1999.

She worked for the Raleigh Bike Co., and later taught ceramics and crafts at Vance Air Force Base.

She volunteered at Our Daily Bread, St. Gregory's Food Pantry, Horn of Plenty and also worked at Hope Outreach and substitute taught with Autry Technical Center, Enid.

Surviving are one son, Paul Phillips of Moore; one daughter, Mary Hutson of Oklahoma City; and three grandchildren.

Besides her husband, Jack, she was preceded in death by one son, and two sisters.
