Bert Frank Lawrence

Bert Frank Lawrence was born February 29, 1932 in Glendale, Arizona to Frank Sherman and Beulah Frances [Snapp] Lawrence. He passed away Thursday, November 1, 2012 in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 80.

Bert was a beloved husband, father, and brother.

He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp spending his 19th birthday on the front line in the Korean War where he fought for 2 years from 1950 through 1951. While in the Korean War, Bert earned a Purple Heart.

Upon discharge from the Marine Corp, he pursued a career in the Agriculture Chemical Industry. After retirement he moved to Oklahoma where he helped in the development of Remington Raceway and the fabrication of the Arcadia Dam. In Bert's latter years he enjoyed home projects and a love of gardening. His greatest love was his wife of 31 years, Lareta.

Bert was preceded in death by his parents; and grandson, Landon Lawrence. He is survived by his wife, Lareta, of the home; 3 sons, Kevin and his wife Lois Lawrence of Michigan, Larry and his wife Teri Lawrence of Glendale, AZ, Donnie and his wife Traci Galyon of Oregon; 2 daughters, Stacy and her husband Leland Sample of Edmond, Robin Galyon of Louisiana; 6 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild.

Funeral Services for Bert will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at the Lehman Funeral Home Chapel with interment following in the Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
