© The Chickasha Express-Star Monday, 2 July 2007 Lecil Ovene Brady Lecil Ovene Brady, 81, of Marlow, passed from this life Friday, June 29, 2007, in Oklahoma City. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Fifth Street Missionary Baptist Church in Marlow with Elders Brian Crockett, Steve Boydstun, Carlton Stokes and John Cove officiating. Interment will be in Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin under direction of Wooster Funeral Home of Elmore City. Lecil was born July 25, 1925, in Wynnewood, to Eura Thomas and Malinda James Brady. He grew up and attended school in Oklahoma and New Mexico. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Lecil married Edna Meadows on April 25, 1946, in Elk City. He worked for Safeway for more than 39 years as a meat market manager in many cities in the southwest Oklahoma area, including Elk City, Lawton, Hobart and Duncan. In 1957, Lecil and Edna made their home in Lawton, then moved to Foster in 1980. They moved to Marlow in 2005. From 1990 until 2006, Lecil contracted with R.E.C. as a meter reader. The highlight of his life was his church, and he helped establish Temple Baptist Church in Lawton. He was a member of Katie Missionary Baptist Church and Fifth Street Missionary Baptist Church in Marlow. In his spare time, Lecil enjoyed riding tractors on his farm and spending time with his grandkids. Survivors include his wife of the home; three sons: Dennis Brady and his wife, Marsha, of Canadian, Tim Brady and his wife, Brenda, of Chappell Hill, Texas, and Todd Brady and his wife, Amanda, of Marlow; a daughter, Lisa Bowles and her husband, David, of Ninnekah; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren, with two more on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Lynn Brady; and three brothers. |
