David Wayne Beard, Jr

Obituary:
David Wayne Beard, Jr was born July 21, 1949 in Memphis, Tennessee to Lola [Frazier] and David Wayne Beard, Sr. He died at a hospital in Lawton, Oklahoma on January 20, 2014 at the age of 64 years.

Funeral services will be held 11:30 am, Monday, January 27, 2014 at Whinery-Huddleston Chapel officiated by Army Chaplin CPT Kenneth Okeze.

David was raised in Dancyville, Tennessee attending the local schools.

He enlisted into the Army National Guard after completing his six year commitment in the Tennessee National Guard he found little work or odd jobs and after five years he reenlisted into the army for active duty completing twenty-six years of service. While in the army he earned many awards and decorations which include Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal Seventh Award, Army Achievement Medal Seventh Award, Army Good Conduct Medal fifth Award, National Defense Service Medal, Kuwait Liberation Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal with Three Bronze Service Stars, Noncommissioned Officer's Professional Development Ribbon with Numeral 3, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon 3rd Award. While in the army he worked with TACFIRE he continued working to improve the army's TACFIRE program working as a contractor.

He liked to fish whenever he could get to the water he loved the outdoors where he also enjoyed camping, and hunting.

He is preceded in death by daughter, Debbie Beard, father, David Wayne Beard Sr.

He is survived by his wife, Omega Ballou, of the home; two daughters, Linda Cordero and her husband Christoper, of Washington DC, Jen Cordero and her husband Daniel of Memphis, TN; Grandson, Seth Nelson; Granddaughter, Charlie Cordero, one sister, Anita Welch, of Eldorado, Arkansas.

Visitation:
10:00 am to 8:00 pm on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Service 6210 NW Cache Road Lawton Oklahoma 73505.

1:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Sunday, January 26, 2014 at Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Service 6210 NW Cache Road Lawton Oklahoma 73505.

Service:
11:30 am on Monday, January 27, 2014 at Whinery-Huddleston Chapel 6210 NW Cache Road Lawton Oklahoma 73505.

Full Military Honors.
