Roy Allan Rainwater

February 21, 1956 - March 27, 2019

Graveside service for Roy Rainwater, 63 of Lawton, Oklahoma will be at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday April 23, 2019 at the Ft. Sill National Cemetry, Elgin, OK. A good friend, Rev. Philip Jones will be officiating. Roy passed away on Wednesday March 27, 2019 at his home. Arrangements are under the direction of Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Service.
Roy was born February 21, 1956 at Ft. Sill Oklahoma to Roy A.J. Rainwater and Carolyn Roberts Rainwater. He was the oldest of four children. Roy graduated from Sterling Highschool in 1974 and Cameron University in 1986. He served in the United States Air Force as a Security Specialist. On October 25, 1986 he married the love of his life, Whittie Treadwell, at the First Presbyterian Church in Lawton, OK. While establishing Rainwater Plumbing in 1980, Roy also worked in Wichita Falls for Work Services Corp and the City of Lawton Neighborhood Services. A Christian man who loved God and his family, Roy had a huge heart and was always there to help. He couldn't refuse a child at the door who was selling something. He will be greatly missed.
Roy is survived by his wife of 32 years and four children: Erin Conway and Partner, Jen Hoyle, of West Hartford, CT; Tripp Carson of Denver, CO; Jesse Rainwater of Lawton, OK, Randy Rainwater of Tyler, TX. Grandchildren include Ian Conway of West Hartford CT; Rocky Rainwater of Walters, OK; Lauren Reyna and Ava Rainwater of Rockport, TX. He is survived by two sisters and a brother: Pam Rainwater and Ivan Brittain of Elgin, OK; Kathleen and Garland Bussey of Lawton; and Ronnie and PJ Rainwater of Pensacola, FL; as well as two nieces and a nephew, Tracy Delmarco, Carolyn Harrelson, and Clint Jacobsma and their families. He also leaves behind many other family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a niece, and many aunts and uncles. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital, American Heart Association, or Centenary United Methodist Church.
