Jerome H. Compton

August 29, 1945 - February 25, 2018

Jerome H. Compton, age 72, of Lawton passed away Sunday, February 25, 2018.
Jerome was born on August 29, 1945 in Cairo, Illinois to Andrew and Corrine (Phillips) Compton. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1965 and proudly served his country as a Lance Missile Crewmember until he retired in 1990. While in the Army, Jerome was trained to speak German and received numerous commendations, medals and awards, during the Vietnam Campaign, including The Army Service Ribbon, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation with Palm and The Meritorious Unit Commendation Medal along with many others.
Preceded in death by his parents Andrew and Corrine Compton and his sisters, Ali and Jean, Jerome is survived by two sons, Jeff Jones and Robert Angel White Compton III; brothers Raymond Compton of Peoria, Illinois, Johnny Compton of Meritta, Georgia, Charles Leroy Compton of Renton, Washington and two sisters Renee Denise of Peoria, Illinois and Debbie Gilispi of Peoria, Illinois along with many other relatives and close friends.
