Frank Bianco

April 25, 1929 - April 5, 2011

Bianco, Frank Stephen, 81, formerly of Lawton, Oklahoma died on April 5, 2011 in Norman, OK. Born in Glen Cove, New York, on April 25, 1929, he was the son of the late Vito and Rose Bianco, and was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Elvira Cosentino Bianco. He was a career Army Artilleryman who served approximately 28 years on active duty and an additional 14 years as a Department of the Army civilian. His service included tours of duty in Korea, Vietnam, Italy, Germany, Arkansas and Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He received numerous awards and decorations during his career to include the "Purple Heart" for wounds received in Vietnam. He is survived by his sister, Mary Fuelling of Albertson, New York; daughter, Maria Gina Watson and her husband Art of Naples, Florida; son, Mario George Bianco and his wife Eleonora of Waldorf, Maryland; daughter, Emma Rose Bianco-Fisher and her husband Mike of Norman; and son Vito John Bianco and his wife Debbie of The Colony, Texas. In addition he is survived by 13 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, two nephews, a niece and numerous other relatives.
Prayer Vigil will be held 6:00 P.M., Monday, April 11, 2011 at Havenbrook Funeral Home, 3401 Havenbrook St., Norman. Frank will be buried at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, April 12, 2011 in the Fort Sill National Cemetery, Elgin, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home.
