Larry Edward Beene

August 27, 1943 ~ March 9, 2017

Larry Edward Beene, of Duncan, Oklahoma was born August 27, 1943, in Mexia, Texas, to Ralph Elmer and Ruth Stokes Beene. He passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2017, at the age of 73.
Family visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, March 15, from 5:30 to 7:30 P.M. at Whitt Funeral Home.
Graveside services are scheduled for Thursday, March 16, at 2:00 P.M. at the Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin with Rev. Randy Southerland officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home.
Larry attended schools in Kilgore, TX and also attended the Kilgore College and Stephen F. Austin. He joined the US Army in October 1966 and served until he was honorably discharged as a Sergeant in 1969. He was employed by Halliburton in "fracking field service" for over 20 years. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church West. His favorite pastimes were golfing, fishing and watching the Dallas Cowboys. His greatest enjoyment was his two sons.
He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Jack E. and Mariko Beene of Nagoya, Japan, and Jeremy D. and Desiree Beene of Hutto, Texas; his grandchildren, Andrew and Emma Beene of Japan, and Zoe and Kenadi Beene of Hutto; and his brother and sister-in-law, Don Ralph and Barbara Beene of Mansfield, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
