Paula K. [York] Maples

Birth date: September 20, 1930
Death date: September 25, 2014

Paula K. Maples was born on September 20, 1930 at Ft Sill, OK to Green and May [Allmon] York. She died on September 25, 2014 in Lawton, OK at the age of 84.

Paula was raised and attended school in Lawton. She worked as a carhop at Mac's drive-in after school and on weekends, which is where she met her husband to be.

Alfred Maples proposed to Paula on her 18th birthday and they were married shortly after she graduated from Lawton High. Paula and Alfred made their home in Lawton where Paula was a full time wife, mother and grandmother.

She volunteered with the local election board as a counter, and when not taking care of her family, enjoyed fishing trips with Alfred, bowling, and family gathering where yard darts and card games were enjoyed by the entire family. Paula was also known to "occasionally" make an appearance at the casino in her later years. Her fried chicken and chocolate chip cookies were legendary, and the love and support she gave her family are in their hearts forever.

Paula was preceded in death by her parents and husband; son, Randy Maples; sister, Gladys Nuss; and brother, George York.

Survivors include a son, Geary Maples and companion Lauri Roznovsky of Houston, TX; daughters, Sherry Burton and husband Tom of Scottsdale, AZ, and Brenda Lathe and husband Bob of Lawton; daughter in law, Jody Maples of Lawton; grandchildren, Geran and wife Kim, Clint and wife Kacie, Tera, Trace and wife Corinne, Jacob and wife Megan, Rachel and husband John, Josh, Heather, Krysta, and Trey; great grandchildren, Skylar, Caleb, Brayden, Kaisa, Ethan, Erin, Emma, Charlotte and Stark; brother, Ralph York and wife Sue, and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
