Marshall J. Smith was born August 22, 1977 in Bremerhaven Germany. He passed quietly surrounded by loved ones on June 19, 2014 in Temple, Texas.

Those who knew Marshall would describe him as someone who was bigger than life in personality. He was the ultimate storyteller, some fact, many fiction. A true outdoorsman, he was always a reliable hunting and fishing buddy. He was a wonderful son and brother, loving husband, and devoted father.

Marshall graduated from Noble High School in 1996, and attended Panhandle State  University where he played football and sang in the choir.  He also attended culinary school where he developed his passion for cooking.

He leaves behind his loving wife Darla Smith and their two children son Cade (9) and daughter Meryn (8).  Parents Gary and Cindy Smith and  Dianna Lynne Melton. Siblings: Monette Smith,Bekah and Andy Hightower, and Daniel Smith. nieces and nephews: Alexus Alexander, Ameila Alexander, Ariana Alexander, Quintin Tiumalu, Xaden Tiumalu, JW Webb, Nick Webb, Braden Webb, and Easton Hightower. His grandmothers Wanda Stevens and Pat Walker, many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Marshall is preceded in Death by: Grandfathers Garland Stevens and Gene Walker, Oma Monette Buntin, Uncle Lace Dickerson, and Cousin Tama Michelle Smith.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Sunday, June 22, 2014 at Havenbrook Funeral Home, 3401 Havenbrook  St., Norman, OK.  Viewing for Marshall will be from 12:30 p.m. – 1:15 p.m., Monday, June 23, 2014 at Noble Assembly of God, 100 Post Oak Rd with services following at 2:00 p.m. also at Noble Assembly of God and interment in Warren Cemetery in Norman, OK.

In memory of Marshall the family has set up college fund accounts for Cade and Meryn at Bank of America.

Arrangements for Marshall and his family were placed in the care of the Vice family at the Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman.
