Rogers, Jamie Michelle, 34, passed away Saturday, September 8, 2012 in Norman, Oklahoma.

She was born April 7, 1978 in Norman to Michael and Nancy (Badgley) Rogers.  Jamie graduated Norman High School in 1997 and was a four year letterman.  She played softball and basketball in school and with the optimist club.  While attending Irving and Central mid-high she was in the school choir.   After high school, Jamie graduated from Moore-Norman Technology as a surgical tech in May of 2000.  She was employed with SW Medical Center until 2004 before moving to Dean McGee Eye Institute as a surgical tech where she was currently employed.

Jamie enjoyed playing softball, often times playing on five teams at one time and going to tournaments every weekend.  She enjoyed all types of music from classical to country and western to rock.  Jamie loved to bowl, have cookouts with her family, road trips with her BFF in her convertible Mustang, all OU sports, and going to the lake.

Jamie's dream was to beat the cancer and return to work in September.  She wanted to re-join her friends and collegues doing what she loved to do.  She maintained that dream to the very end.  Jamie had always participated in the Race for the Cure each year to show support for her mother Nancy, who is a five year survivor and for breast cancer awareness.

Jamie is survived by her parents, Mike and Nancy Rogers of Norman; brother, Jason Rogers and wife Beverly Din of Dallas, TX; two sisters, Julie Eades and husband Allen of Norman and Jennifer Rogers of Antioch, TN; her aunts and uncles, Vicki and Bill McGhee of Corpus Christi, TX, Lynn and Ray Breckenridge of Drumright, OK ,  Elisabeth Thomas of Cordell, OK; Will and Tammy Rogers, David and Crystal Rogers, Dan and Mariam Rogers, Shane and Donna Rogers, Shawn and Patty Slocum and James and Linda Rowley all of Wyoming; her cousin, Edwin McGhee of Corpus Christi; and her best friend, Ashley McMahan and family of Norman; and many other close friends and family.

She is preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents.

A scholarship in Jamie's name has been established at Moore-NormanTechnology Center, 4701 12th Ave. NW, Norman, OK 73069 in the surgical tech program to help future surgical tech students pursue their dreams.

Visitation will be held 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Monday, September 10, 2012 and 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 11, 2012 with the family greeting friends from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00  p.m.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 12, 2012 in the Chapel of the Havenbrook Funeral Home with interment following in the Warren Cemetery of Norman.    Arrangements for Jamie and her family have been placed in the care of the Vice Family at the Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman.
